Hummus, a healthy, creamy and delicious dip

Hummus has a reputation as a clean, healthy food. It deserves it. All the main ingredients are super foods in their own right. It’s got chickpeas, sesame paste, garlic, and olive oil in most traditional versions.


Homemade Hummus Is a Home Run, let’s go:


  • 250 gr. cooked chickpeas
  • 3 tablespoons “tahini” or sesame paste (sesame)
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Water from cooking chickpeas
  • 4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • Sal
  • Pinch of cumin (optional)


  • To cook the chickpeas:
    • Chickpeas are soaked the previous day with plenty of water (at least should be in water overnight)
    • The next day the water is changed, and chickpeas get to cook until soft
    • When cooked, reserve the cooking liquid (the secret flavor is here)
  • In a food processor or blender add the tahini, lemon juice and turn on, then start adding the garlic, chickpeas, olive oil and salt
  • Now, go slowly adding the liquid from cooking the chickpeas until creamy texture
  • Rectify salt
  • And our hummus is ready, enjoy or store in glass jar with lid
