muhammara, crema arabe de pimientos

Muhammara is a sauce based on peppers. Originally from Aleppo, Syria. In Spain it is known by the Turkish kitchen where in western regions it is called acuka. It can be a great appetizer for a afternoon of football, movies, talks (with beers ) … with family or friends. Very exotic but easy to prepare for their readily available ingredients.


  • 2 roasted red peppers (spicy or not spicy, or one and one, to your taste)
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 100 g of peeled nuts (or almonds)
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin
  • Salt and pepper





  • Peppers should be roasted, peeled and seeded
  • In a food processor pour: cut peppers, garlic, nuts, cumin
  • Turn on processor and add oil to the consistency of spreadable paste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Packing or serve and enjoy
